This song, believe it or not, is about stopping yourself from committing suicide.
Yeah. That IS dark.
But so's life - it comes with highs and lows and it's up to us to ask for help and try REALLY HARD to find the positives (Darkness knows that can be hard).
Like many artistic types, I struggle on a very regular basis with thoughts of self-harm or even suicide but I've always had music and chosen family to help me through it.
Being isolated in a country which you're not from - which has always been my case.
Being a stranger in a foreign land that never quite fits in - can be extremely isolating, trying and exhausting and, honestly, death can often seem tempting.
But it ain't the solution.
Keep your head up and your friends close and do what you love.
I mean that. FInd something you enjoy doing and do it with EVERYTHING YOU HAVE (even if it's not for work, maybe it's art, maybe it's sport, maybe it's raising your kids).
Doing this art thing is no walk in the park kids and fuckk knows most months I'm counting pennies; but EVERY new fan I make, EVERY one of you who shares my posts/music/tell their friend about me, EVERY smiling, shouting-along face I see at a gig makes me so undeniably happy that I know it's all worth it for you guys.
Sharing this kind of stuff to empower those around me - y'all - Children of Darkness - to open up about your own troubles and share it with your chosen family, or the real one if you can stand em.
May The Darkness be with You.
lyrics
I said death,
Come and get me now sugar
I said death,
Come and get me honey yeah
I can see you standing in the corner of the room
I can see you see you waiting for me to make my mistake
But if that’s what your hoping for now mama x2
You got another thing comin to you
I said death,
Come and get me baby
I said death,
Come and get me sugar
I can see you pointing yo long bony finger at me
I can see waiting, hoping, praying for me, for me to screw it up
But if that’s what you lookin for now mama x3
You better bring yo’ sickle ‘cause I’mm’on bring my gun
Bring yo’ sickle ‘cause I’mm’on bring my gun x5
Bring yo’ sickle
And I’ll bring my gun
Bring yo’ sickle ‘cause I’mm’on bring my gun

I love the lo-fi vibe king dude has. I love the darkness of his music. I love the aesthetic he presents and he is another inspiration to me. Saw him live and shouted along with every song. Van Tastik
